It was almost my hubby's 27th birthday and i still can't think of a gift. A special one. Something different. Not the usual one someone can receive. So, I decided to prepare a trip for two (for us). Somewhere we can have like a honeymoon (though we don't have plans of having a third baby, yet). Initially, i wanted to go to Boracay. But since it's urgent, the cost is too high. That's how it works. The nearer the date of your flight, the higher the cost. So i searched for a better place with a lower cost. Finally, i have us booked with Cebu Pacific Air for a flight to the Queen City - Cebu! This is so great! It's both our first time to travel via plane. (Really! Even though my dad has worked with PAL for more than 30 years, i have never used by privileges.) After I got the plane reservations, i searched for an affordable hotel we could stay in for a 3days, 2nights vacation. If you want to save on the room since you're not gonna stay there but just need a place to sleep comfortably to, i would recommend Gran Prix Econotel. I compared prices of bookings directly to the hotel and via travel agencies. End result, travel agency price is lower and they can still book you even if on the hotel website already says full. Maybe that's because the rooms are already allocated to their partner agencies. I booked thru www.asiatravel.com for 2 nights and paid only 50% as confirmation. After that, i searched for the tourist spots that we can visit and prepared our itinerary since we only have more than just 48hrs we have between our flights to and fro. And to make sure we can visit all sites, i rented a car. I will recommend Cebu Rent-A-Car/Daijobu Rent-A-Car. The car is new, clean, comfortable and with very kind drivers that will give you advices where you should go and where you should eat. Historical site visits at our first day then Cebu White Sands on our second day. 48hours is definitely not enough to see everything nice in Cebu. Next time, we'll make it a week vacation! Maybe with our kids or with our friends. I'll tell you more about our experiences on my next blogs. I will also include details of my recommendations and how to reach them.
