Just finished voting for the Baranggay Election with my dad (Rico), my mom (Jenny), my youngest brother (Jerson) and my older daughter (Franzyn). We were in our Uber Cute upgraded Volkswagen Beetle. I thought we were goin' home already when Dad did a right turn and realized we were going to our farm. It's just a few miles away from the voting precinct. It's been a while since i last visited our farm. I can't even remember when it was. It's not really the typical farm concept where there are plantation sort of things. But since it's outside the town proper with no electricity yet and the water pipe just got connected, i think i can call it a farm. It's just an hectare of different trees, mostly banana trees and really high coconut trees (which was already there when we got it) and a few kinds of trees that dad just planted by himself. He's the only one industrious enough to visit it often and do stuff like cutting the grass and planting whatever. He enjoys it and kinda making it a hobby. Last time i saw the house, it was just a nipa hut with a room and a veranda where we used to bring food to eat our lunch while enjoying the nice breeze. Now, it has a concrete toilet room and washing area, since there is water connection already. The nipa roof was replaced by metal roof, too.
I really felt great being there. Dad's planning on starting on hog raising. But i'm planning to help him beautify our farm by planting more plants like more pineapples, lanzones, guava, tomatoes and even flowers that are low-maintenance since i can't be there always. Well, hopefully i can fulfill that plan. Maybe next year. I'll write another blog about it once i've fulfilled this goal of mine (since i do have a lot of goals for next year).
I'm starting to be more pro-nature and pro-organic. How about you?
